Right now I am looking for a place to do our rehearsals and shows. I just could not come up with the money to continue at the Strand. There is another theater company working through the Strand but that is not the Imaginatory Theater Company. Some of you contacted me with info about that show and I thought it would be best to let everyone know here.

I don't exactly know when but auditions for the other theater company are coming up and they are doing Annie Jr. I was told the audition fee is $85. That's all I know for sure. That and our family can't afford to do that.

This summer I have been hired to teach theater camp at Dance Fusion in Fogelsville. Let me know what you are up to. Maybe at least we can have a get together of some sort. I was also thinking of a trip into NYC to see a show. Check with your parents and give me some feedback.

I will keep you posted on my location search. If you have any suggestions or leads please, please let me know. I miss working with all of you sooo much.

Blessings,
Mrs. V.

Fine Arts Festival.

The Fine Arts Festival has been postponed indefinitely. Thank you so much for your hard work, dedication, teachable spirits and love. When we all work together we can do amazing things.

Please thank your parents for lending us for all these rehearsals and shows, and for driving you back and forth so much. Without their love and support none of us could have performed last night.

I also need to thank the wonderful crew we had this time around. Michael, Mrs. M, Mr. H, Jess, Mr. V, Mrs A and Mrs S. Thank you for all your help.

Lastly a big, big thank you to Bill and Barbara from the Strand for letting us use their building and helping us in soooo many ways. Show your appreciation by going to the other events at the Strand and telling your friends about them. You can check out their events at http://www.hamburgstrand.com

Now....what to do in the Spring? I have a few ideas but nothing firm so if you have a suggestion hit comment and let me know. Remember musicals are a bit out of our budget range just yet, but I'm saving up. : ) We have lots of strong female actresses in our company so keep that in mind too...not that we don't have strong actors too but we have lots of girls.

Well, I'm for a bit of a rest and regrouping. Keep in touch with each other and pop in here regularly to find out what's going on.

The Fine Arts Festival is coming.
Love,
Mrs. V

That was a great rehearsal last night!

What a great rehearsal last night. I really saw things come together. Thanks so much for all your hard work. How did it feel to have some costumes and the set and props? Are you getting excited for the show? I know I can't wait.

I also want to thank everyone who made the costumes, set, and props possible. You have no idea how many angels are working in the wings for this show. We are blessed.

I'm sitting here this morning making a list of all the ways I am blessed by God. You guys are on that list. Make your own list of blessings. Then when hard times come, and unfortunately, they will, you will have your list to read and be encouraged by.

So, we have time off for Thanksgiving. Your assigment is to make that list of blessings. Put it in your favorite journal or a nice piece of paper and frame it to hang in your room. You'll know where to find it when you need to be reminded that God loves you immeasurably and will never stop loving you.

I'm going to ask about your lists at dress rehearsal.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Blessings,
Mrs. V

We've been asked to do a special performance.

Hi all,
We've been asked if we could perform for 2 church services. It's very exciting and our rehearsals are going very well. Keep working hard and we will have another excellent show.

Below I have put the schedule for the rest of our rehearsals and the shows. It's very important at this stage of our rehearsal period that you come to every rehearsal. Please let me know if there are any serious conflicts in advance of the rehearsal. The entire cast suffers when one person is missing so please don't let your other cast members down.

I am including two flyers for you to place to advertise our show. You can put these up in your school, church, a store, anywhere you think will advertise the show. If you need more flyers I will be happy to provide them. This is our best form of advertisement.

If everyone sells at least 6 tickets we will have one sold out show. I have also included a ticket order form. You can collect ticket orders and payment and I will give you the tickets at rehearsal. Due to the fact that we are donating $1 of every ticket sale to Samaritan's Purse's Operation Christmas Child I need to keep track of how many tickets are sold.

Thanks so much for all your dedication and hard work. I thought it would be good for our theater company to adopt a soldier as well. His name is SPC Apollo Arevalo. If you are interested in learning more about him and sending him some notes of encouragement leave me a comment and I'll privately email you his address. Please pray for Apollo even if you can't send a letter.

Remember: The soldier’s first priority is war and not to be a pen-pal. They will respond if and when they can. You can be sure they are receiving what you send, but many do not have free time or any days off for extended periods of time. Service men and women tell us there is nothing like receiving something in the mail after coming back to their Iraqi base. Take heart knowing you have put a smile on their face that day…and they will remember you for years to come.

We can make a difference in so many lives and often very easily.
Blessings,
Mrs. V

NO REHEARSAL THIS WEEK

Don't forget there is no rehearsal this week. We are meeting at 5:30 at Hamburg Bible Church 731 Port Clinton Ave Hamburg, PA and using their parking lot to park cars. We'll car-pool from there to the float. That way we will have less cars to find parking for in town. If any parents who have vans can help with the car-pooling that would be great. Please come in your costumes (and dressed warmly underneath). Mrs. Haag will call me to let me know what street in Hamburg the float is on. If you have any bright work lights or white Christmas lights we can use on the float please let me know.

The parade begins at 7 pm and we are in the second division so we should be finished fairly early. If it rains and the parade is post-poned I will email and call everyone so please check your messages if it's raining. The raindate is Nov. 2nd. Pray it doesn't rain : ).

I still need permission slips from some of you. I really can't let you ride on the float without a permission slip so please, please, please bring it with you on Saturday...you can just print out what I have below or have your parent write something up.
See you Sat!
Mrs. V

King Frost Parade Permission Slips

Hi Everyone,I need a permission slip for everyone participating in the parade. A short play is a 'One-Act, a play with one interval has two Acts etc. Acts are subdivided further into Scenes.

ACTING AREA-That area within the performance space within which the actor may move in full view of the audience. Sometimes very nerve-wracking, but auditions can be a fairly painless process if handled properly. Performers are often asked to memorise a monologue from a play they like to perform for the director. Books full of suggested monologues are available. You may be asked to do a 'Cold Reading' which tests your own response to a piece of text you've not prepared.

AUDITORIUM - The part of the theatre accommodating the audience during the performance. We're going to be spending a lot of time together for the next few weeks. I can't wait to really dig in get on with the show. We don't have a lot of rehearsal time so please do your best to come on time and prepared to work. I hope you are all working on your lines at home. It helps to tape yourself reading the script and listen to over and over.

I also recommend each one of you doing a character analysis. Really decide who your character is. I've attached an exercise we've used in my theater class that will help you. Fill it out, print it and bring it to rehearsal to help you in your acting. This is especially important for our townspeople. We need all kinds of distinct characters in the town. Who are you?

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

See you at rehearsal,
Mrs. V

Barb VogelgesangThe Imaginatory Theater

The Imaginatory Theater where creativity is discovered, developed and encouraged in order to reflect and honor the ultimate Creator.http://imaginatorytheater.blogspot.com/

May 29 ....3 - 4 pm Emperor, Wart, Hog
If the Empress, and Empressettes can make it at 4 pm that would be great but I realize this is last minute.
